Tyrrell's Single Vineyard HVD Semillon 2017 comes from a historic Hunter Valley block, renowned for producing Semillon of great precision. Created in 1983, this cuvée was the first wine officially identified as a single vineyard at Tyrrell's. It features 10.5% ABV, pH 3.15, and 6.27 g/L total acidity. Aging potential of 10 years.
On the nose, expressive and subtly evolved, focusing on citrus such as lime, followed by honeyed and lightly toasted notes. On the palate, lively and chiseled, driven by an abundance of citrus and a fine, almost chalky acidity; the finish is long, fresh, and precise. Pairs well with a scallop carpaccio or roasted poultry with herbs.
Tyrrell's, with a 160-year winemaking tradition, is led by Bruce Tyrrell (fourth generation) and Jane, John, and Chris (fifth generation) in the Hunter Valley. Their exceptional 108-hectare vineyard is home to 7 of the region's 11 oldest ungrafted blocks.
Australia
The Hunter Valley is the flagship wine region of New South Wales and one of the oldest in Australia. It is here that the story of Australian wine began in the 19th century—and where a unique winemaking tradition continues to thrive. The region is especially renowned for two iconic styles: oak-aged Chardonnay and dry, vibrant, and taut Semillon.
The latter, produced since the 1870s, is considered the purest expression of the grape variety in the New World. The best Hunter Valley Semillons, such as those from Tyrrell’s, are known for their crystalline freshness in their youth and their remarkable ageing potential, developing notes of honey, toast, and beeswax over time.

The HVD evolves beautifully: the citrus makes way for honey and toast, with a tension that is ever-present.
