Our Wines From Around the World

What wine are you looking for today?

More than 500 bottles—that leaves quite a few possibilities.

To start, the simplest approach is to begin with what you already enjoy. Do you prefer light or powerful reds? Lively or more generous whites? Are you looking for a wine for an aperitif, a dinner with friends, or a bottle to cellar for a few years? Here are a few paths to help you find what you’re looking for.

Choosing your wine by color

Red wine

Delicate Pinot Noir, fruity Gamay, generous Malbec, spicy Syrah, or structured Cabernet… explore our selection of red wines from around the worldaccording to your preferences.

White wine

From lively and aromatic Sauvignon Blanc to full-bodied and generous Chardonnay, as well as Riesling, Chenin, or Vermentino, discover our white wines from around the world.

Rosé wine

Fresh rosés for the summer, but not only then. Provence, Chile, or rosés from elsewhere have plenty to offer for the dinner table all year round.

Champagne and sparkling wines

Champagne, Prosecco, and other bubbles for an aperitif, special occasions, or the pleasure of sharing a fine bottle.

Choosing your wine according to your taste

Do you like supple reds full of fruit? Explore our selection of fruity red wines. Looking for more structure? Head over to our tannic red wines.

For white wine, let yourself be guided between fruity whites, mineral, light, or more generous options.

Choosing a wine by style often allows you to discover regions and grape varieties you might not have considered. A fan of Burgundian Pinot Noir might be tempted by a cuvée from Central Otago, while a lover of Rhône Syrah will find wonderful surprises in South Africa.

Choosing your wine by country and region

Burgundy, the Rhône, the Loire, or Bordeaux are obviously all part of the mix. But Vinodelice also likes to look at what’s happening on the other side of the Alps, the Atlantic, and sometimes much further afield.

Italy, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand… each country has its own grape varieties, terroirs, and winemaking traditions.

Choosing your wine by grape variety

The grape variety is an excellent benchmark once you start to know your tastes.

Do you like Pinot Noir? It can take you from Burgundy all the way to New Zealand. A fan of Syrah? The Rhône Valley, Australia, or South Africa offer very different expressions of it.

Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Malbec, Sangiovese, Grenache, Nebbiolo… our online cellar lets you find your favorite grape varieties and discover new regions through them.

Choosing your wine according to your budget

There is no need to wait for a grand occasion to open a good bottle.

For an improvised dinner or an aperitif with friends, you can find some very lovely wines for under €15 or €20. Between €20 and €30, the choice widens even further. And when the occasion calls for it, great terroirs, old vintages, and exclusive cuvées allow you to trade up.

Price provides an indication, but it never tells you on its own whether you will like a wine.

Buying wine online: some tips for choosing well

An online cellar provides easy access to a large number of regions, grape varieties, and producers. This is particularly interesting when you are looking for a specific bottle or wish to discover a less well-known vineyard. You still need to know how to navigate it.

Start with the style of wine you like

For a red, ask yourself if you are mainly looking for fruit and suppleness or more substance and tannins.

For a white, do you prefer the freshness of citrus or fuller textures and ripe fruit?

These few indications are enough to significantly narrow down the choice.

Look at the producer and the terroir

An appellation never tells the whole story. Two wines from the same grape variety and the same region can be very different depending on the terroir, the age of the vines, the winemaker's choices, or the aging process.

That is why our wine sheets give an important place to the estate and how the wine is produced.

Check the vintage

The vintage can influence the wine's profile and its development, particularly in regions where climatic conditions vary significantly from one year to the next.

It also lets you know where the bottle is in its lifecycle: some cuvées are made to be enjoyed in their youth, while others benefit from waiting.

Think about the meal

Grilled fish? A lively white or a rosé. A rib steak? A red with more structure. A Thai curry? You will need to take the spices and heat level into account.

Our guide to food and wine pairings from around the worldallows you to search for a bottle directly based on what will be on your plate.

Vinodelice, an online wine merchant for the curious

At Vinodelice, we love great appellations as much as we love less well-known vineyards. Our cellar brings together French and foreign wines, with a special focus on estates that have a real identity and regions that deserve to be discovered.

We also make it a point to share what we learn through tastings and meetings with producers.

Our pages present the wines and the estates. Our guides then allow you to go further: understand a Barolo, discover the old vines of the Maule, explore Hawke's Bay, or find what wine to drink with a Greek salad.

This desire to share wine goes far beyond our online store. In fact, Vinodelice regularly organizes and participates in wine-related events. Wine and cheese evenings, Cheese and Wine Week, meetings with producers, or events like Vins je t'emmène: we love creating opportunities to taste together and meet the men and women who make the wines we offer.

It is also a way to get to know the estates better, talk about the bottles, and introduce people to new vineyards.

Wines from France… and much further afield

France already offers enough to fill several lifetimes of tasting.

Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhône, Loire, Champagne, Alsace, Languedoc, Roussillon, Provence, Beaujolais… our selection allows you to rediscover the great French regions and their iconic grape varieties.

But Vinodelice also has a serious desire to look elsewhere.

Italy and its countless grape varieties

Sangiovese in Tuscany, Nebbiolo in Piedmont, Primitivo in Puglia, Nerello Mascalese on Mount Etna… Italian winepossesses remarkable diversity, with grape varieties and styles that change from one region to the next.

Spain and Portugal

Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Priorat, or Douro: the Iberian Peninsula is home to great historic appellations, very old vines, and a fantastic diversity of local grape varieties.

Argentina and Chile

The Malbechas found a spectacular adopted home in Argentina, particularly at the foot of the Andes.

On the other side of the mountain range, Chilean wineholds many more discoveries than just Carménère: cool-climate Chardonnay, old Carignan from Maule, Cinsault from Itata, or Pinot Noir from Malleco are all evidence of the revival of several wine regions.

South Africa

Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon… the South African vineyard possesses a great diversity of terroirs and grape varieties. Oceanic influences play an important role there, particularly in the regions of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, or Walker Bay.

Australia and New Zealand

Barossa Shiraz, Clare Valley Riesling, Margaret River Chardonnay, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, or Central Otago Pinot Noir: Australia and New Zealand offer a wonderful diversity of climates and styles.

Which wine to buy according to the occasion?

For a dinner with friends

Look primarily for pleasure and versatility. A Gamay, a supple Pinot Noir, a Côtes-du-Rhône, a Sauvignon Blanc, or a fresh Chardonnay are all great options to accompany a convivial meal.

The choice will obviously depend on the menu, but also on your guests' tastes.

To give as a gift

When you know the person's tastes, start with their favorite regions or grape varieties.

A fan of Burgundy might appreciate a great foreign Pinot Noir, while a Bordeaux lover might discover a New World Cabernet and Merlot blend.

If you don't know their preferences as well, a fine appellation, a recognized estate, or a Champagne make for easier choices.

For a special occasion

Champagne, a grand cru, an old vintage, or a bottle from an estate you’ve wanted to discover for a long time: certain occasions make you want to bring out a special cuvée.

The most important thing remains choosing a wine that is suited to the meal and the people with whom you are going to share it.

To discover something new

Try a Chilean País, a South African Pinotage, an Austrian Grüner Veltliner, or an Australian Sémillon.

You can start with a grape variety you know and change the country, or discover a region through its local varieties.

The possibilities are endless, and that is a large part of the pleasure.
